Lockdown... again

Well here we are in another lockdown -- this time perhaps only a few day but who knows.  The weird thing is that EVERY SINGLE TIME we have had an emergency lockdown Stu's father has been staying at our place because of an appointment or meeting he was having in Auckland.  The first lockdown he was here for a meeting with his lawyer, the next was another meeting with his lawyer and this time was his daughter's ash burial and dentist appointment.  Obviously that is now cancelled and he will go home later today.

The burial yesterday went really well -- the sun shone and lots of family came along except the daughter of the lady being buried.  Yep, Stu's niece didn't turn up because she didn't want to see people or mention her mother??  Clearly she has issues and from talking to others she has mental issues that need sorting.  It has been seven years since her mother died and she had a real victim mentality for a few years until she found "Qanon".  Yes, she is a full on Trump follower and Qanon supporter -- she's even been banned from Facebook because of her posts.  How sad though that she wouldn't be there to see her mother's ashes buried in her grandmother's grave.

In case you are wondering, yes seven years is a long time between death and ash burial but the ashes were being held by the daughter and things just kept getting postponed.  It was finally meant to be done last year but Covid happened so that was cancelled.

After the burial everyone came back here at it turned out really well.  I did lots of finger food and people sat inside and out.  I got out the kids outdoor play equipment plus lots of little toys and we didn't hear from all the little kids the entire time!

So we are locked down and to be honest after a few very busy days I'm looking forward to doing absolutely nothing!!

Ok, off to do absolutely nothing once Stu's Dad leaves to go home.

Happy kids (not my grandkids) playing with all the toys I brought out.  The girls LOVED playing with all the trucks :)

  1. I was trying to remember, your last mini outbreak, did they figure out how that happened (refrigeration/freezer company)?

  2. Vickie, no I don't think they ever found out where that came from. This current case seems the same - one of those affected does handle airline laundry so it would seem logical it's come from there because the testing has shown it is not from anyone who has been quarantined. Another mystery that I hope they figure out because this time it is the easily spread UK virus.
